Finding Church Records
Most church records are retained by the churches themselves. Some records have been transcribed, abstracted or indexed and published, microfilmed, or scanned.

Best viewed using the Internet Explorer browser. Select the Search tab,then “Browse by location,” “Delaware.” Or select the Search tab, then select “Card Catalog” under the Search Resources section. Use Database title or Keywords options to search for the name of a church or for descriptive words, such as church or parish. Also see the Learning Center available free through Ancestry.com.

PERSI (Periodical Source Index) is the largest subject index to genealogical and historical periodical articles in the world. Covers genealogy and local history periodicals written in English and French (Canada) since 1800. The time period of the articles ranges from the 1700s to the present. More than 1.8 million index entries from nearly ten thousand titles are represented in this index.

Information about the church, contact information. May include where the records are held.
Church Organization (local, regional, national)
City or Business Directories
May include listings of associations, churches, schools, government offices, charitable societies, fraternal organizations, and more.
Some records have been transcribed, abstracted or indexed, and published, microfilmed, or scanned.
Bible records are available on the Internet, usually from individuals or from digital library collections.
